A coffee cup placed on the bedside table woke me up. Through blurred vision I could see Juan's shining white teeth. "Rise and shine, princess." I gingerly sat up and he bent over and kissed my lips. He told me that his driver would be here in 90 minutes to take me to the airport. Juan was dressed in dark jeans and a white polo shirt. He had ordered me a selection of hot and cold breakfast items and they were neatly presented on a silver trolley.
He looked a little sad as it was time for him to go. "Goodbye my princess," he said, "you've given me the best night of my life " And he swiftly turned and left.
I had a split second feeling of regret that I probably would never see him again but this swiftly went as an overwhelming desire to be in my husband's arms overtook me.
I got ready quickly. It was a little cooler and a button up blouse with a mid length skirt and ballet shoes seemed a wise choice. Quite the virgin wasn't I?
The journey to the airport went quickly and I turned on my phone the minute I entered the building. My man answered on the third ring and I blurted out "I'm coming home baby so you'd better be ready for me!" I told him how i'd ride him while telling him every detail of my adventure and then I said "I love you."
The flight came and went quickly as I dozed most of the time. I almost ran through Arrivals and saw the love of my life, standing there holding a card with WIFE written on it! I jumped into his arms and we squeezed each other. Onlookers probably thought we'd been apart for six months.
I loved listening to my guy on the way home. The everyday happenings of life that he recalled brought a warmth and comfort to me.
Ten minutes from home and I looked in my handbag for my lipstick. I pulled out a screwed up piece of paper with a moblie number on it. I'd forgotten about the three ***** boys I'd met on the flight to Spain. I reread the note;
WE ALL WANT YOU - PLEASE CALL ME ON THIS NUMBER X
Smiling to myself, I put it in position between my fingers to rip it up. At the last minute I straightened it, folded it neatly and tucked it into the back of my purse. Well, you just never know do you?
THE END
